The InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards is an annual event celebrating the achievements of successful women in various fields including science and technology, fashion, business and sport. Being involved with this event is without a doubt one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever done and is also one of the highlights of my career.

As the deputy editor of the magazine I project managed the awards in 2016. This involved everything from liaising with the high profile judging panel that included Nicole Kidman and Layne Beachley to being the point of contact for all nominees, and any respective agents, publicists and managers. Nominees in the year I was involved included Lara Worthington, Marta Dusseldorp, Margaret Fulton, Hollywood producer Bruna Papandrea and jockey Michelle Payne.

From an editorial perspective I wrote a number of the nominee profiles along with editing the entire Women of Style portfolio in the magazine. Separate from the magazine, I also wrote the script for the announcement event and oversaw the script for all the nominee videos.

This project is months in the making and was one of the key aspects of my role. The event culminated in a star studded black tie dinner where the winners are announced and is one of the most prominent events on the Sydney social calendar.
